Les Miller had wrote a good post here about the eclipse. Had found a other brillant article with sad points from members of our church. Imagine, we are living in the year 2024!

Well here are some solar eclipse safety tips!
Physical safety - I was just watching NOVA on PBS yesterday and they said if you are going to use eclipse viewing glasses, use them ONLY for direct viewing. If you put the glasses on and then look through a telescope or binoculars, the lenses will focus the remaining sunlight powerfully enough that it will permanently burn your retina.
Philosophical safety - Beware of anyone who says this particular eclipse is in Bible prophecy or any kind of sign of the end time. Beware just as much of the idea put forth by so many today that eclipses are just a fascinating coincidence. The moon is 400 times smaller than the sun and 4oo times closer as well (making it appear to be the same size) because God supernaturally made them that way 6000 years ago.
Genesis 1:16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
It takes a lot of study, but the earth is the last, not the first, planet ever created and the rest of the universe is much, much older. That however, is a topic for another day.
